Art Hop is a weekend full of art and live performances. The work of over 70 artists can be viewed inside shops, restaurants, galleries and cafes throughout Takoma. Art includes painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, pottery, mosaic and more offered for sale at a variety of price points. Live outdoor music and dance performances are planned all weekend at the Gazebo.
Don't forget to grab an Art Hop Map from any of the participating businesses. It doubles as a punch card which you can get stamped at each Art Hop Stop and turn in at the Art Hop Info Booth on Saturday and Sunday for nightly prize drawings!
Unfortunately, for health reasons, I will not be doing a workshop this year but my colleague Jennifer will be holding a sock primate making workshop on Sunday from 11 to 11:30am for kids ages 6-10. The workshop is free, but we ask that you contact Little Loft (240) 292-9695 to be sure to reserve a spot.
I'm honored to have been chosen as one of this year's featured artists at Art Hop Takoma! I will be showing at the amazing children's studio space, Little Loft -- a fantastic space for kids and their families to explore art and creativity.
Join me at Little Loft, upstairs at 7007 Carroll Avenue to see my latest work, enjoy some nibbles and catch up. For those with kiddos ages 6-14, Come hear how I began making art, my favorite materials, and try out some of techniques in the workshop I'll be giving on Sunday from 11:30-noon! (up to 12 participants, first come, first serve - come by that morning as early as 10am to reserve a spot.)
On April 9th and 10th, Takoma will once again showcase the talents of local visual artists as we welcome visitors to our eclectic mix of local businesses. Explore downtown Takoma's shops, restaurants and cafes, as you view the work of over 100 artists of all media on display all weekend. Take in free performances or programs scheduled throughout the weekend!
